About Thijha

Rooted in the highlands of the Himalayas and shaped by centuries of Tibetan craftsmanship, Thi-Jha is a hand-knotted rug manufacturer dedicated to bringing the art of weaving to modern interiors around the world. Founded in the early 2000s by Thinley Dorji, a Tibetan–Bhutanese artisan with a vision to preserve and share his culture, Thi-Jha began as a small workshop in the foothills of Everest, Kathmandu, Nepal.

What started with weaving traditional Tibetan designs using pure Tibetan wool has grown into a full-scale luxury rug-making factory, producing bespoke and custom carpets for retail outlets, galleries, interior designers, and global buyers.

Crafting Himalayan Heritage

Our rugs are handcrafted by artisans whose families have woven, spun, and knotted for generations — a heritage passed down from Tibetan nomadic culture. Every piece carries the quiet discipline, harmony, and artistry of the loom.

Today, Thii-Jha works with:

  • Premium Tibetan wool

  • Fine Chinese silk

  • Viscose and blended fibers

  • Any custom material requested by clients

Each rug undergoes an extensive process — hand-knotting, washing, drying, trimming, and finishing — taking approximately 45 days, depending on size and intricacy.

A timeless piece that feels like home.
